About the Artwork

Mike Klung’s multimedia compositions are in a class of their own. A self-taught artist from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Klung spent 14 years as a framer and matte designer before he took up painting. Inspired by the sublime beauty of the native Louisiana woods, he lovingly depicts tree-filled landscapes. Klung's technique juxtaposes layers paint with untraditional materials such as leaves, wood and screens that together create a texturized, three-dimensional appearance.

I was shocked at how well this piece was framed! The wiring on the back was designed to relieve the weight of the heavy artwork and I had it on my wall within 10 minutes of it being delivered to my home.
