The Shukhov radio tower, Moscow, photographed at night. Also known as the Shabolovka tower, this broadcasting tower was designed by architect Vladimir Shukhov to serve the Russian capital. The tower is 160 metres tall and is made from a lattice of steel known as a hyperboloid - the vertical steel components describe hyperbolas over the surface of the conical tower. This design minimised wind loading on the structure. It was built in 1920-22 and is found on Shabolovka Street a few kilometres south of the Kremlin. This photographic print is digitally printed on archival photographic paper resulting in vivid, pure color and exceptional detail that is suitable for museum or gallery display.
